An upcoming “soft-return” to public celebrations of Mass…
As we prepare to return to the public celebration of Mass, listen to these words from Fr. Donald Oleksiak – Diocesan Administrator of the Diocese of Cleveland:
While we are not yet permitted to publicly celebrate Mass, the “soft-opening” of the church will take place starting Memorial Day (Monday, 25 May) and the first weekend Masses will be permitted Pentecost weekend (May 30/31). The first weekday Mass celebrated at Sacred Heart will be Thursday, 28 May.
Though we are once again permitted to join together in prayer, the dispensation of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains in effect. Thus, anyone who feels apprehensive about returning to weekend Mass may stay at home and watch Mass on TV/YouTube/etc.
Until we can return to Mass, options for keeping Holy the Lord’s Day include:
– The Diocese of Cleveland livestreams a mass daily at 9:30am on the diocesan website, and the weekend TV Mass will be available on the diocesan website starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday. It can also be seen on Fox 8 WJW at 6 a.m. on Sunday.
– Daily Mass with Bp. Robert Barron streamed daily at: https://www.wordonfire.org/daily-mass/
– Mass on EWTN daily at 8AM and Noon at www.ewtn.com/tv/watch-live
– Mass on-demand at CatholicTV.com
The Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist will be made available to anyone requesting such – although it will most likely take place out-of-doors and at a “social distance.” If interested, please call Fr. Trask to schedule an appointment: 440.987.9873.
